In this role, you will shape the day-to-day operations and long-term vision of the pediatric patient care area, serving as the critical link between frontline nursing staff, physician partners, and executive leadership.
What you will do
- Lead daily operations and long-range planning of the pediatric care unit, ensuring consistently safe, high-quality patient outcomes
- Mentor, develop, and inspire nursing staff — cultivating a culture of accountability, growth, and excellence
- Champion a patient- and family-centered care environment that honors the unique needs of pediatric patients and their families
- Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to advance care standards and resolve clinical challenges
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility through strategic staffing, resource management, and budget oversight
- Compile and analyze unit performance reports, identifying opportunities for quality improvement
- Compose clear and professional communications including memos, clinical correspondence, and operational reports
- Coordinate interdepartmental meetings and facilitate productive dialogue across care teams
What you bring
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required — or on track to complete within 12 months
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership aptitude
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Strong written, analytical, and organizational skills with proven computer proficiency
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Required certifications
- Texas Registered Nurse (RN) License — current and in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
